ffffff

elevated, unique, and creative

i clicked on my spam folder in gmail to see what kind of stuff was in there today and the latest email was from "ERICA" with "VIDA". it started like this:
Hello There,
-
We came across your artwork and absolutely love what you are
doing - your work is elevated, unique, and creative. We wanted
to see if you would be interested in a design collaboration with us.
now, besides the fact that this is obviosuly spam because it is in the spam folder.. theres no way this is a real letter or compliment because who would use the word 'elevated' with a straight face?
i googled the term elevated, unique, and creative to see if the script that was sending out this letter was online or something.. there were 50+ matches, but the results were people excited to have received this letter thinking it was real. on the surface, it seems like because the letter is positive, there is nothing wrong this, because the end result is people feeling happy that someone out  there likes their work (even if it is just randomly generated message). but that isn't entirely what this is--their motive is simply to make money, and using a (fake) compliment to get your attention right away; feedback being something that might be missing from your online art practice.. idk this seems sort of sad. nonetheless automating a compliment as spam is interesting
