while taking shelter from torrential rains under a bus stop downtown, a woman approached me and asked 'how old are you?' and i felt confused for a moment, asked her to repeat the question, and then answered ('2X'). with a surprised look she started to tell me about how she has a 14 year old son and when she saw me she thought she recognized me from his class ("i know that girl! she goes to school with my son!") and followed up her statements with some remarks about how this kind of confusion was a good thing.
