mIRC Options
Connect
- Nickname: username
- Alternative: username_
Connect > Options
- Uncheck 'Show connect on startup'
IRC
- Click the Events.. button.
- Change all values to 'Hide' (change Ctcps to 'In Status')
- Click OK.
IRC > Options
- Uncheck 'Query'
- Uncheck 'Chat'
IRC > Logging
- Click the Options button.
- Uncheck everything in the 'Logging Options' popup window.
- Click OK.
IRC > Flood
- Uncheck 'Enable flood protection'
- Change 'Trigger flood check' to 9999 Bytes.
- Change 'Max. lines in buffer' to 9999 Lines.
- Change 'Max. lines per person' to 9999 Lines.
- Uncheck Ctcp replies
- Uncheck Whois requests
- Uncheck Query windows
Sounds
- Uncheck 'Enable sounds'
- Uncheck 'Query' 'Chat' and 'Buffer'
- Set 'Beeps' to 0
Sounds > Requests
- Uncheck 'Accept sound request'
- Uncheck 'Send !nick file as private message'
DCC
- 'On Send request' .. choose 'Ignore all'
- 'On Chat request' .. choose 'Ignore all'
*Note: this is reccommended, but optional. Leaving DCC open to automated abuse is potentially dangerous.'
DCC > Options
- Uncheck 'Notify with' Send, Get, and Chat
- Uncheck 'Show Warning'
DCC > Folders
DCC > Ignore
- Under 'Method' choose the dropdown item 'Disabled'
- Uncheck 'Turn ignore back on in'
DCC > Fserve
- Set 'Max File Servers' to 0
- Set 'Max Gets per user' to 0
- Set 'Total Max Cps' to 0
- Uncheck 'Show file server warning'
DCC > Server
- Uncheck 'Listen for' Send, Chat, and Fserve.
Other
- Set 'Window buffer' to 10 lines.
- Click the 'Confirm...' button
- In the 'Confirm' popup window, uncheck 'Always' in the top. Then uncheck everything else.
- Click OK
- Click the DDE button
- In the DDE popup window, uncheck 'Enable DDE Server'
- Click OK
You can now click 'OK' to close this mIRC Options window.
